Our Director Paul Robinson said:

“I find it unusual when new customers tell us about leaving their old suppliers. This is more than often down to bad communication and not responding to people. We always strive to offer the best customers service we can and always work as partners with clients”. To us, excellent client communication is key.

best time for lift upgrades

Best Time For Lift Upgrades?

Lifts are reliable methods of travel, and for businesses, they can be a game-changer. However, there will come a point where your lift will need an upgrade, so when is the best time?

Well, the industry normally recommends that if your lift is over 15 years old, it may be time for a lift upgrade.

Outdated or old parts – If the parts for your lift are past their life span or not fit for purpose, this could be why your lift is breaking down. If this is the case, we highly recommend upgrading them.

Persistent breakdowns – if your lift is always breaking down, even after a recent repair or maintenance visit, it could mean your lift is reaching the end of its life. A lift upgrade can resolve this and reduce the chance of further breakdowns.

High energy usage – High energy usage can mean unnecessary harm for the environment, and a lift reaching the end of its life can contribute to this. A refurbished lift is less energy consuming than a replacement lift and better for the environment.

Non-compliance with newer safety regulations – If your lift is old, it might mean its not complying with current safety regulations. Investing in a lift upgrade can ensure it complies with all lift regulations.

Quick Delivery and Installation – Parts for the lift refurbishment can take roughly 2 to 4 weeks to arrive. For the refurbishment itself we can install it within roughly 7 working days. In comparison, a new lift can take anywhere from a few weeks to several months.

A lift refurbishment is an excellent investment that can stand the test of time. It can turn an old faulty lift to an efficient, reliable ride that seems like its brand new. Lift upgrades have untold benefits such as:

  • Improved Performance and Longer Lifespan
  • Minimal Disruption For Your Business
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Cost Effective

If your lift is in need of an upgrade, Nationwide Lifts are here to help! With vast experience in lift upgrades and a team of expert engineers, we can upgrade your lift and have it in ship shape. Get in touch today.

Platform Lift Replacement

Platform Lift Replacement

Here is a great example of a platform lift replacement job we have recently done at a care home. The old lift on site was unrepairable, and the client did not have the budget for an expensive passenger lift that would have needed extensive building work.

This lift is a disabled access solution and a back up to the other passenger lift on site.

We removed the old lift, fitted new landing entrances and a new platform lift within 4 days.

We had some great feedback from Silvia on site who is the care home manager “may I say thank you very much for a very professional and efficient job done by your team”.

Understandably so, you may have some questions regarding our lift servicing. Here are some commonly asked lift service questions.

Yes, you must have a service contract in place for all lifts. You must also have regular LOLER inspections for your lifts.

You must have a minimum of two lift service visits for passenger lifts and one service visit for goods lifts. This is the same for LOLER inspections too.

Nationwide Lifts do traditional lift maintenance and advise customers to have three visits per annum to ensure that you never go beyond 6 months. We also consider age of the lift, usage and client or consultant requirements. We find that doing more traditional lift servicing helps reduce callouts and downtime as we spot issues before they occur.

A lift service cost is anywhere from £40.00 per visit to £100.00 per visit. This depends on the type of lift, size, storeys and site requirements.

Are your service levels slow? it doesn’t need to be. With us we can guarantee high-quality lift service. Get in touch today if you are experiencing problems.
