Lift service (also known as lift maintenance) is where a qualified engineer will come and inspect your lift. Maintaining your lift is important, especially when they are often in use. The cause of a lift maintenance visit may be for a problem or just a general wellness check to make sure the lift is safe and works properly. We can provide lift servicing for you and your company; we have been doing it for over an impressive 30 years, and we have a wide array of loyal customers and good clients.
Our reliable and efficient engineers are experts in their field and will work around the clock to deliver the highest quality lift maintenance we can offer.
We carry out lift service visits for care homes, colleges, retail companies, private hospitals and other customers around Staffordshire and the UK. If a lift breakdown occurs or something goes wrong, a lift service visit must be booked as soon as possible.
During our time in the lift industry we have carried out countless lift service visits, and with us as your lift maintenance provider you are in good hands.

By having the right in house engineers and right lift service structure in place, this will save you money, issues, and downtime for all your lifts. Our lift engineers have vast experience in servicing and repair work for all types of lifts. We have lift service contracts in place all across the UK for hydraulic lifts, traction lifts, platform lifts, cabin lifts, step lifts, chain driven lifts and hoists.
We look after many exciting sites with various passenger lifts, goods lifts and platform lifts as part of our ever-growing portfolio. With some excellent reference sites and customers in the UK, we have expanded our business via repeat work from these clients.
Nationwide Lift Services also have a strong working relationship with a third party insurance company, which can help you with your LOLER inspections.
LOLER requires that all equipment used for lifting is fit for purpose, appropriate for the task, suitably marked and, in many cases, subject to regular ‘thorough examination‘. Records must be kept of all examinations, and any defects found must be reported to both the person responsible for the equipment and the relevant enforcing authority.
Traditional Lift Maintenance
Traditional lift service (or preventive lift service) is where our lift engineers will spend more time on site and instead of just looking at the present, they look at any minor or general faults that have potential to become more serious in the future. You may have had instances where the lift company you used didn’t spend enough time on site and things didn’t get spotted or noticed. With us, we will spend more time on site and try to spot all problems.
Traditional lift service has been proven time and time again to reduce costs in the long run and greatly reduce breakdowns
By offering the right lift service, our engineers can help cut down on call-outs, breakdowns and costs. By spending more time on an individual lift, it allows our engineers to prevent issues from happening in the future. We do not believe in giving our engineers huge rounds to complete each day, as this can cut back on quality and time on site.
Our lift service packages can be tailor-made to suit clients requirements. We can offer standard contracts or comprehensive solutions for your lift servicing. However, we like to take into consideration the type of equipment, usage, age, and clients budgets before we agree the best way forward for you.

Frequently Asked Questions
Every 6 Months at least – the minimum lift service visits you can have on a passenger lift is 2 a year (1 on a goods lift). Nationwide Lift Services recommends 4 lift service visits a year for a passenger lift and 2 on a goods lift (if you are a business where they are important and in use 24/7 like a care home or hospital, we may recommend more).
Regular lift maintenance has lots of benefits, these can include;
- Cheaper and less costs in the longrun
- Reduced chance of the lift breaking down
- Ensures the safety of your lift
- Fixes any problems, and anything that could become a hazard in the future

You are required by law to service your lift, and it’s also important for safety and overall efficiency. Maintaining it regularly can also save you money in the long run by preventing expensive repairs or replacements, and increasing the lifts longevity.
Lift service visits and LOLER inspections are somewhat similar in nature but LOLERS can only be done by a third party insurance company, lift maintenance can be done with one of our engineers
